Question about rear headlights
The past few weeks I’ve been getting occasional messages on the console saying “check right rear light”, and “check left rear light”, usually simultaneously. So I stop the car and go around back expecting to see a light blown out but it always seems ok. The light strip running across the back and into the taillights is always on. But then I’ve begun to think, are those little thin lights at the bottom of each taillight supposed to go on too? Right now, there are just very thin filamentous lights that seem to be glowing in them, I don’t know if they’re even on or not. Could someone confirm this for me, or post a pic of your 991.2 4S with the rear lights on? I suppose if I didn’t have the long light strip (ie non -wide body .2, it might seem pretty dim)
thanks

Rear headlights = taillights
I recently got a similar message on my display. I thought it was odd and the taillights seemed to be working fine. I shut off the car and restarted it and the messages went away. That was a few weeks ago and it never happened before and hasn't happened since. I can attribute the messages to one of two possible things (although I can't be certain it's either of them). 1) My battery is the original battery on a 2017 car that was manufactured in 2016. So it's about 7 years old. When batteries get old they tend to produce strange error messages on the display. 2) I had just driven quite aggressively on some very bumpy roads. You would think that if I jarred something loose that the error message would persist but it hasn't. Nonetheless, the timing of the error messages and the unusual drive I just made was strangely coincidental.

Your picture shows what I believe are the running lights. Have you checked your brake lights and your backup lights? I think the lower lights that the arrow points to are the brake lights. I also agree with the battery possibly being the source of the problem.
