2017 TTS with 44k miles. Most definitely there is play/slop in my driver seat (18-way). But I’ve also noticed a teeny bit of slop in the driver seat of my wife’s 2023 Macan S with only ~6k miles. So maybe it’s just Porsche “character”.

I just returned from the dealer. They torqued seat fasteners. Movement is still there. According to CPO guidelines the seat is still functional, it doesn't affect performance or safety. So with respect to CPO it isn't covered. At least dealer verified bolts were tightened. In the end it is a poor design. No seat should move, period, we all know this.

Bottom line CPO covers non-functioning parts. Wear, appearance is not covered. For example if your headlight has cracks around the perimeter but it doesnt affect beam pattern its not covered. If it affects beam pattern it covered. Door cards are covered since the seal is compromised against the window which could allow water to enter. In other words the door cards are the back stop for the glass so the outside seal can work. I probably make a post on just CPO, my info is 55 p

Ok, update. Whatever they tightened helped. I only feel movement first time I get in while pulling out of garage, or when I left Porsche. I haven't felt any movement while driving. If it moves it's minimal enough or slow enough I don't feel it. At this point it is acceptable, I wish I knew what they tightened I think a little more and there would be zero movement, my guess is the mounting bolts between seat bottom and seat back. I can still get it to move if I pull on back rest and pull forward but the movement is minimal at best. Soooo if your moves I suggest tightening every bolt you can access even if you need to remove some plastic covers....

Another update. I removed my seat, removed as much plastic as I could and removed back rest center section in my quest to find slop. The movement is in the back rest frame pivot area. Funny I was able to get movement while my kid was reclining the seat forward and backward which isolated the jack screw from being the issue. The only way I could have gone further was to remove the upholstery. I wasn't in the mood for that.... It makes sense why the Porsche dealership didn't want to trouble shoot. Why spend hours on a seat issue when you can charge $580 for a 15 minute oil change, useless ****s.

Anyway I got bored and test drove a Carrera 4S with PDK and it had the 4 way sport seats if I said that correctly. I could not adjust those vertically only back and forth and recline. Those seats set much lower to the floorboard than how I had mine adjusted, actually liked it better. I have the 14 way. Anyway I adjusted mine lower to floorboard and haven't felt movement in 3 days. So either I apply force differently to the seat or the wear point has moved. Doesn't make sense since my movement was in the back rest and it moves up and down with the seat bottom.... Taking the seat apart isn't that bad, I found what I think is an image of the back rest and it appears all welded. I would guess slop has developed in the pivot points, remember 21K miles, seats don't last long, lol!!

On a side note I have a base 991.2 with manual. The "S" was faster but it wasn't earth shattering due to the smoothness of the power. I had it in sports chrono 2 and like mine could not notice or feel any turbo lag and I beat the hell out of it. Launch control was impressive but as my daughter said how long will you do that before it's boring, lol. Everyone that says the S has more turbo lag I disagree with, it was good seamless power. The PDK was impressive but I need a manual for entertainment. In my opinion the S has more power than 99% of the population would ever use (boost with launch control was only hitting 15 psig, mine hits 13 psig.. One option I feel is a requirement is chrono package, with it off boost builds SLOW, with it on it builds quick.
