I have a MT in my 2015, but here in congested New Jersey I often wonder if PDK may have been the better way to go.
The one thing that can be said without (much) controversy is that no matter which one you get, there will be times when you wish you had the other one.
I was hell bent on buying a manual 991.1. Since I wanted a non black non white car that already limited the available cars drastically. When I found a car that ticked most of the boxes I had PPI done and DME reports came back with over revs in range 4 or worse. This happened three times over a time span of 9 months. Long story short. I bought a PDK car and I’m happy. I have other sport cars with manual transmission so I simply use them when I feel the need to exercise my left leg. YMMV.
Even if I was working, I would not waste a Porsche in stop 'n go traffic, be it a manual or PDK.
Sort of reminds me of the driver of a Lamborghini Countach Aventador who was going back and forth on a touristy street on the Gold Coast in Australia...at 30 mph, if that. I guess he needed to be seen.
I on the other hand am on a country back road having fun.
