Default 2013 C4S Transmission Leak?

Well, this is a bummer. Just bought my first Porsche last month and it's already sprung a leak (picture attached). Is this a transmission leak, since the fluid is pinkish? Good thing it is CPO.

I've called my local service center and they're taking a look at it tomorrow and providing a loaner. Fingers crossed!

Looks like coolant given how transparent it is. Leaks are fairly rare on these cars.

Good to have the CPO.

Don’t sound so sad, car is 10-years old! Things are going to happen.

I think you're right. This thread shows the same color fluid.

Well, since it's only been a month since purchase, I started to think I've been duped!? :-)

That's 100% coolant,no question about it! Probably water pump or the notorious coolant pipe...

Yep, that's coolant. Transmission fluid is much, much more vicsous. Also usually much darker.

Is this an easy fix and covered under CPO?

Should be covered under CPO. Easy fix? Well,it's not very difficult...but for the coolant pump the bumper has to come off, taillights, air box,wing,belt...Perhaps a good idea to pay some money(even though the repair is free) to replace the air filters, perhaps belt and to check the belt tensioner which often leaks hydraulic fluid...as a " while in there " type of thing...dependent on the year and mileage...

porsche CPO is excellent you have nothing to worry about. Just bad timing with your purchase but these cars are excellent, reliable, you will be happy with it for years!

I sure hope so. Please try to understand my concern since it's so early in. That's all. I owned a 2000 540i back in the day but it seemed like something was going wrong too often, thus my PTSD. Haha

i totally get it. it sucks getting a new car, and immediately getting stuck with a big repair. You are in a better position than most though with having a CPO car. Dealer experience is also excellent at Porsche. The first porsche i bought was a CPO 2014 cayenne, which i purposely purchased a CPO car due to the rumors/myths of how expensive porsche's are to fix. I was coming from BMW and mercedes as well which are both not easy on your wallet, thinking porsche might be even worse. Come to find out and learn how well these cars are built, and how amazing the dealer experience is. I used the CPO warranty twice on that cayenne and both times were in 1st year of ownership. Once for a trunklid mechanism that was getting stuck, and the PCM radio rebooting (which was XM's fault), and the second time was for the well known transfer case failure (which is covered by its own warranty too). The dealer experience blew me away, brand new Cayenne both times as a loaner vehicle, and absolutely no charge even for little things that i had asked them to replace (bulbs). I dont know if the Porsche CPO program is that good that it even covers bulbs, or it was the dealer just being excellent (i took it to a very well known porsche dealer in chicagoland for excellent service, napleton westmont porsche), but i still couldnt believe it. Then after the CPO warranty ended i never had any major repair/problem for 3 years, the car was perfect. Just oil changes and tires! These cars are much better built than bmw and mercedes, they arent even in the same league!

BTW, 2000 540i's were NOTORIOUSLY unreliable. Probably one of the most unreliable and expensive cars to own. Even though i LOVED that generation of 5-series, this car wont even be 1/100th as bad as a 2000 540i lol.
