On a light colored car it's the worst... and when you see all the plastic underneath it doesn't help. The 992 isn't as bad, but still does the same eyeball damage. 993-997 had the right idea cosmetically, but in the end they were all just not wide enough across the rear I guess.

I agree with the OP - the spoiler is fugly and spoils the lines of the 911. That said I never see it up and it provides down-force when I need it so I'm fine with leaving it alone. When shopping for my 991.1 I noticed some dealers posted photos of the car with the spoiler up. I avoided them on principle. I also think the aerokit wing is ghastly but I do like the ducktail on a coupe. I do love the whale tail on the 930. To each his own...

Agreed, you need a bigger one....LOL. Completes the look of the 911!

yeah, it's look cheap up. (bob used to make fun of anyone posting a pic of their car with the spoiler up)
maybe if all the black plastic under the spoiler was painted body color it would look better?

I never likes the looks of the spoiler when it is deployed either. I even posted a question about on this forum as when I programmed my chrono sport individual mode I did not select the spolier yet is still deploys at speed. I was very skeptical that a spoiler that size could offer much down force or stability at speeds under 100 mph. I was pointed out to me that their are several reasons why it cannot be disabled in settings and one is stability and the other is that it deflects air to help cool the engine oil coolers. Not sure if that was true but it is the answer I got and made some sense. The selection of spoiler on the individual mode is to keep it up at all speeds.

I don't like the looks of the wing at all on the carrera's. I had a 1979 911 turbo and I like that fixed wing but not so on the new carreras. But after reading some of the replies I guess it does work and is good for something. I am a pilot and it seems to small to do any good but I may be wrong. I just don't like the looks of this wing at all.
What would a pilot know about the downforce of a car? Don't you only know about lift? (that was a joke please don't respond)

YES IT JUST LOOKS CHEAP--I THOUGHT THE SAME THING WHEN I SAW ONE PARKED WITH THE WING UP--MAYBE IT WORKS---AND THE GOOD THING I CAN'T SEE IT WHEN DRIVING OVER 70 MPH--THEY NEED TO MAKE IT LOOK BETTER LIKE YOU SAID--I AM AFRAID TO DISABLE IT--IT MIGHT MAKE SOMETHING ELSE TO GO WRONG---

I never understood how adding wing#2 on an existing ducktail made any sense at all, vs just another GT3/Techart style wing. It's like a cheap ebay 3m add-on afterthought. Just my personal preference though. Too busy.
