Sold my 911 for a Vantage
I finally sold my 2014 911 C2 Cab w/ MT for a 2021 Aston Martin Vantage w/ MT. Didn't want to wait for an allocation or pay an ADM for a new 911, so thought I would try a British car with a German V8. Some fun facts on my 911: I bought it in 2016 for $82k, sold it to my dealer last week for $67k and the dealer is now listing it for sale for $85k. It's amazing how well a 911 retains value and unfortunately, I think my new Vantage will follow the traditional rules on depreciation. I thought about selling the 911 on BaT but decided it wasn't worth the hassle. The long term plan is to get another 911 before it goes all hybrid or EV, and I'll still lurk on this board to keep up with my 911 news. Finally, here's some pics of the old and the new, and of the new Vantage on the 800+ mile drive home for the dealer in Chicago.

Beautiful Vantage.
There are a few at work and they always look great. How do you find the MT in the Vantage?
Enjoy!

love your Vantage. Absolutly stunning. have been an AM fan since childhood. one of the few cars out that i would gladly switch to from a 911 (temporarily/short term of course). congrats and enjoy!

Congrats on the Aston! The combination of the 4.0TT V8 with a manual has to be very special. Enjoy!

Oh.My.Lord. Drop dead gorgeous! Definitely keep us updated on it as you get to drive it more. Love Astons, but they do scare me a little 😁

She's beautiful.
If there's anything Aston does right, it's the engine sound. Glorious sounding engine (even thought it's not theirs).
Congrats, and enjoy it in good health.
(Just hope the depreciation doesn't bite you too hard when it's time to move back to a 911. )

Aston made manual Vantages in 2020 and 2021, but they are hard to find and I jumped when I found one with the right specs. Ideally I wanted the Vantage Roadster (what Aston calls the Vantage convertible) with a MT but they didn't make that combination so I settled for a coupe with the MT.

I had a 2014 Vanquish that seriously blew me away with what a great all around GT car it was. Interior definitely a step up from Porsche, though I thought the new Vantage interior felt a little cheaper compared to the Vanquish. I know they’re two different price points but I didn’t seem to notice much difference with the new generation DBS either.
Ever thought about a 550 Maranello or manual DBS/Vantage V12?

I test drove a vantage 2 years ago for 30 minutes or so and it was unexpectedly really a lot of fun. That Mercedes engine is a beast it was a little terror, far less composed than a 911 but in a great way. I didn’t buy it because I could get past the interior design but if they had fixed that I would have one.
these were sitting around and discounts were big, what are they now?

I've been contemplating making this move instead of a 991.2 or 992 GTS. The AMG TTV8 is a great platform, and I personally am a fan of the mercedes electronics and switch gear. I just really like having a back seat area for my dog.
