Default Mirror Mounted Escort Radar Detector

First 2019 GTS Cabriolet. What’s going on with my install? I watched several u-tube videos. I installed everything as shown. Red/black wire to red on the power cord and black to black. I have power to the detector, but it doesn’t every shut off. What am I missing?

Try this..go to 3:25.

There’s many different wires in the dome. Mine is connected to blue and brown wires in the harness, just like this guy shows.

I originally installed like you, but it never shut off, so definitely can’t stay there. Good luck!

Sounds like you are tapping into a non-switched power source. Depending whether you have the auto dimming mirror or not will dictate whether the power source at the top of the windshield is switched.

And you are tapped into the continuous power feeder. The escort should have an auto shutoff feature.
