PPI Necessity?

PPI Necessity?
Put a deposit down on a 2017 4S cab. It has 10k miles and all service on time at local Porsche dealer. Car is exceptionally clean. It is not being sold at Porsche dealer, so no CPO. So my question is; am I foolish to not do a PPI?
thanks all! Pics to come once she’s mine

at that age and mileage you could probably do your own PPI
does it come with all the service docs?
have the timed-out maintenance items been done? belt, plugs, etc. need to be done by now regardless of mileage.

More than likely based on what your describing you'll be fine. But I wouldn't bet on it with a $100k car. Spend a few hundred bucks and get a proper PPI by either a P car dealer or P car indy specialist. Peace of mind is pretty cheap.
And agree with post above about DME report if it's a manual

I just watched a smoking tire podcast with Mitch from M engineering and he mentioned odometer rollbacks as something that is on the rise. A good PPI will be able to detect it. Just some food for thought.

unfortunately most who do PPIs just go off a basic checklist like a CPO and don’t look for things like this. If maintenance records are up to date with mileage stamps for a car this low mileage which is not uncommon it should be fine with a basic look. Get a Fidelity warranty or the like for a reasonable price for piece of mind and call it good.

Someone posted sometime within the last week about a dealer that was selling a CPO car with unrepaired frame damage that was (evidently) just covered up with repaired bumper covers … supposedly the dealer ship knew about the damage and just decided not to repair it and pencil-whip the CPO report.
So, as Dirty Harry’s said … “Do ya feel lucky??”

I would get the PPI. It is very common, even when a deposit is requested/required to hold, that the deal is contingent upon the inspection results. As was mentioned, it's a minimal investment to look at items one may not catch on the surface. Anyhow, congratulations on your future purchase!
