My Guards Red 991 looked orange when parked next to Carmine. I would def go for Carmine if i had the choice.

Resale value aside, I agree with others that you should give the Carmine red a chance, you may find that you like it.

What don’t you like about Carmine red?

My friend’s Carmine Red GT4.
Just...WOW!

LOL....good point...I think most cars are white, black, silver, or gray.

Sorry to highjack thread but what's a liquid wrap and how is it different from typical wraps? Any issues to base color after removing or other downsides?

Haven't watched the video posted by @pkalhan but in brief: a normal three stage paint job is primer, base and clear coat. With a wrap, the car is sprayed with a liquid adhesive compound in place of primer, then base (actual car paint, and then clear. The liquid adhesive makes it removable. The fact that it's actual paint, enables the wrap to be applied without seams and in door jambs and under trunk/hood etc. Because it's paint, you can then apply PPF on top, and/or you can polish and wax like normal paint. I'm being provided with a 5 year warranty, so it's much more durable than a wrap. Because it's sprayed and not stretched, it's far more durable. Best of all, when you're done with it, it peels off just like vinyl wrap.

++ on no repaint. The Porsche process will be undone. If Guard is what you want, keep looking. Once originally painted, the color stays with the VIN for the rest of its life in many ways. PS, I’ve had guard, now prefer Carmine.

I’ve seen stranger things, such as the sheiks buying multiple cars then spending gazzillions of dollars completely changing the colors - inside and out. However, if, as you say, cost is not an issue, I’d say it’s your car, your money, your dream. Go for it. Resale value be damned!

agreed! Also, to me, Carmine red seems to be a deeper richer blood red which I think looks amazing on a sports car. That GT4 earlier in this thread looks awesome.

We have a Carmine Red Macan GTS because when my wife saw that color, that was it. She loves her CR GTS.

From your comments (cost to do so not a problem)......this car has all you are looking for except the "correct red" you desire, however, this car with the options you are looking for and the very low mileage is a bit of a Unicorn itself.....so if you can afford it....buy this one and sell if you see a Guards Red in the future......
BUT, in the 991 series, not many people ordered Guards Red or any Red as was every third car in the 80"s......AND in a GTS? you may never find one in the condition or options you found in this car.......
BUY IT!

I own 2 guards red 911's (G-body and 991), I would buy a Carmine Red in a heartbeat and have been hunting for "the right one" in Carmine. Don't get me wrong, I love guards red, but Carmine is equally special and looks stellar in person. Just my 2 cents, YMMV.

My first Porsche was a Guards Red 928. It was beautiful. I still love the color, but, I think you'll be happy with either shade.
