My car is still under the service plan and Porsche do not allow me to track the car unless it is one of their own events. So far I have done 2 track days in my previous Boxster S, but nothing in my 911 GTS. I visit the club track days as a spectator and sometimes lucky enough as a passenger. But I really want to drive my own car!!
I watch all the Porsche Carrera cup races on TV. Several of the upcoming drivers participated in the Porsche Esports simulator racing before 'real' racing. A regular YT'er at Nordschleife invested in a Euro 20k simulator which he says is excellent.
If I can't do real track time, maybe a decent simulator is the next best thing?
I'd be interested to know if any other forum members have tried a simulator, and have recommendations of what to buy. I was looking at a cockpit type simulator (seat, steering wheel, pedals, large screen) with feedback on the wheel, pedals and seat. If I could get one styled like/handling like a 991.2 GTS, all the better. I believe this maybe possible for around $3k.

Doing a track day which is not organized by Porsche invalidates the service plan (essentially free services and certain warranty items). They will do a pre track day inspection and are on site with techs during the day to take care of any problems.
So I'd like to take advantage of the remaining 2 years of free service, if I can. Or I guess I could just say screw the service plan....
I actually build them.
I custom build them them. I even use real steering wheels from the cars, and seats (budget permitting). All in they were about $5-6k, including all software and hardware.
One client I built two matching Ferrari ones for his basement, custom parts and painted. I actually prefer to use an xbox instead of PC, so it's never outdated, new games and consoles are litterally plug and play. I've done it was curved tv's, full surround sounds, vr instead of a 4k tv, its 100% bespoke. I build them with a full 7-speed manual setup, and if wanted I can add a paddle shift alcantara wheel for when you want paddles or drive a paddle car. I order seat tracks and cut the frames and add mounting points for different heights on the steering wheel bases and shifters. I even set up the user accounts with xbox live and start the games so everything is literally just sit and play. Some pics when I built them and we even all were playing on Leguna Seca together. (I was a GM for a dealer, so I would build them in the shop when slow, and we would sell them to clients). Real brake and gas pedal feel, the force feedback and the pro sim bases is awesome you can feel oversteer and understeer like a real 911, and the clicking of a gated manual is sublime. Some pics below I found on my phone. I sold my personal one (all black), and actually thinking of building a retro 911 one soon either way. The old school seats and wheels are much cheaper than the new stuff lol.
have been into "sim racing" for over 20 years. have had several decent setups (seat/wheel/pedals/shifter) but nothing close to what some of you guys are showing here.

as a side note....you can enjoy some great sim-ing for $1500 too $2000 if you just want to dip your toe in. lots of good gear out there that won't break the bank and still provide a great time. personally i much prefer F1 sims/tracks but lots of other choices.
Here's my setup. It's a great way to get seat time when you cant go to the track. I overbuilt my computer but other than that, it's a pretty reasonable setup. I would personally stick with PC games as they are more "simulator" than Xbox or PS5. Everything becomes obsolete eventually so why not go with more realism with a PC setup!
but wait.. why cant you drive your own sports car on the track if you want???
‘Non USA dealers (Porsche corporate??) are sometimes very strict … there was a string on RL where a dude in Europe said his dealer threatened to void his warranty if he didn’t remove the ZunSport radiator protection grills that he had installed.

absolutely. that's what i thought. did some searches for reviews of the brand and what i found were all good. one from reddit, one from a sim website and then a few positives on amazon.
