Default Widening rear track 5-8mm need some help

Hey all:

looking to push the rear wheels out a few millimeters as when I lowered my car with the custom alignment the top of the rear wheels look sunken in a bit. I really like the way it handles right now and didn’t want to adjust the camber to make it just look better.
Even with some camber adjustment - I don’t think it will look like I want.
I called BC forged and can order a more aggressive wheel figment to achieve this look at the cost of $2500+/-
Either would entail new barrels and redoing my rear wheels or potentially just ordering two new wheels for the rear.
The other option rather than doing the above would be to maybe find a way to increase the track in the rear. I have been looking and Googling information on thrust arms but cannot see/find any information on results or installation.

Can anyone shed some light here for my 991.1 GTS?

I am already using a 315 tire out back vs 305. Also thought of a 325 tire but don’t think that will achieve the look I am after.

Spacers?

My '15 GTS (purchased CPO) came with the factory 5mm spacers already on the car. I have read conflicting reports that were standard vs. added after delivery. FWIW, the owners manual does refer to spacers so I am going with "came with the car".

But it seems like an appropriate thickness spacer would be a whole lot easier than getting new wheels or changing control arms.

No I wish - I have Centerlock wheels so cannot use spacers.

I'm not 100% certain, but I believe adjustable control arms are what you need to gain that extra width in the rear: https://www.agencypower.com/blog/new...o-and-carrera/

For what it's worth, in the photos your car looks quite slammed and wheels and tires are quite flush. For all the trouble and expense you are considering for a few mm, you might leave well enough alone. Car and wheels look great!

thank you bro!! I know it’s only a few angles that seem to catch me off guard and that’s what pushes me to consider this.
I think what you’re saying is save the money and aggravation - take the wife and kids on a staycation!

The easiest approach is to order new wheels with your desired ET. I went down the rabbit hole with my GTS w/CL’s and increased the track width. When you change the track then you throw out other geometry. For instance on the front of the car when you install adjustable Lower control arms (LCA’s) the thrust arms pull the wheel forward and this throws out the caster. So when you widen the front track you need to install adjustable thrust arms to counter the effect of the adjustable LCA’s. The rear of the car is adjusted by the lower eccentric adjusters which gives a little more track and adjust your camber. But the rear is a multi link so to push out the top of the wheel you need adjustable upper arms. To adjust the rear of my GTS I went with a more aggressive ET CL fitment. Based on my own journey wheels are a much easier way to adjust the stance and that is why some folks prefer 5 lug over CL’s.

Thanks man!

Centerlocks can be a pain and at time I do wish they were 5lug but it also gives me that gt3 ish look.

I have decided after speaking to my shop and reading that post I am going to just change the rear wheels. I am going to wait till the time is right (maybe when I need tires) and order 21 inch wheels in back with lower offsets. That way it gets a whole new look and fixes the fitment issue.
