Uniden R7 or V1G2 Radar Detector?

I haven’t run a detector in years because all I ever got from them was a notice that I was getting a ticket. A keen set of eyes and a heightened sense of awareness have kept me out of much trouble.
That said, I’m considering buying something after this happened:

I have a V1G2 and get what I believe is false positives. Had laser alerts with no cops around and Ka false alerts. I say false because I was in the middle of the desert with nothing around and suddenly an alert then then goes away. Not sure if Uniden has this issue but it has caused me to question my V1.
Note, the V1 has also saved me a few tickets FWIW.

Good long range detector can save you a ticket.

Sorry meant in general. Not you.
No idea why you got pulled over.

I think I was doing 78, but he wrote me up for 74 in a 65... the side street was where he finally pulled me over after following me for quite a while.
I've found I can run 8-9 over without getting pulled over, but once in a while I exceed my limits.
I've been averaging a ticket every 3 years for the last decade which has me thinking I might try a detector again.
