Default Travel bags that fit on rear deck behind back seats

I'm planning a little getaway with my family (wife and two kids) and have been searching for a while to find some luggage or bags that would make optimal use of the rear deck behind the back seats without obstructing the view out the rear window. I found such a bag on on the Roadsterbag website but I was weary about spending ~$500 for a bag that although it looks nice and fits perfectly, it was not optimal in terms of using all the available space. The dimensions of the bag are 33" x 16" x 3". In reality, that 3" could really go as high at 7" without obstructing the view. I searched tirelessly for a bag with similar dimensions to no avail. I decided that I would probably be better suited with two bags that would occupy that space, so I wanted to find a bag that was around 16.5" x 16" x 7" and get two of them. Even that was very difficult. I was able to find a couple on Amazon that were very close to the desired size but the quality and material of the bags seemed very cheap. I eventually found a bag on ebay that was designed/intended for use as a carry on bag for air travel that would fit beneath the seat in front of you. Lo and behold, This is the bag I found and I just received two of.

These are not fancy by any means but the quality is decent and they fit perfectly. At $50 for a pair, it's a great deal indeed. And each one easily holds a weekend's worth of clothes, toiletries, or whatever for travel (provided you pack reasonably). Granted, my family doesn't pack reasonably and I also plan on using a rooftop cargo box, but at least now I have something to help make more optimal use of the available space inside the vehicle. I also plan on using the frunk but I'm also taking along a cooler so space up there will be limited.

I happen to notice that these bags are almost gone but if you're interested, perhaps reach out to the seller.

I also found another bag that I almost purchased instead with similar dimensions in case they run out or anyone is interested. This one can be carried like a backpack.

we’re not actually heading out just yet, so I just stuffed a pillow and each bag to fill them out.

That’s a good fit. Kids must be small. How tall are you? I’m 6’5” and there is no leg room behind me unless you have skinny ostrich legs. Take photos of the car all packed out. I love seeing cargo boxes on cars like the 911.
