What’s everyone’s feeling on the red gauges? Resale? Are these something that is sought after?

if you’re buying this car with resale in mind you’re doing it wrong.

Buy what you’re passionate about. If it’s not the car for you then move on. In terms of resale, if you love it, then someone else will. All 911’s are pretty much someone’s dream car. They are not, however, a store of wealth.

I tend to use Autotrader, Carmax and Carvana as retail price guides and also the National Preowned Porsche search engine. 911’s vary a lot in spec, so it’s important that you find one with options that matter to you. You will end up paying a bit more than you want, so be ready for that. If that makes it a struggle, then be patient and move on. The right 911 will find you.

Looks like someone kissed the redline one time in the car's history for 9 ignitions..I'd call that as clean as you'll see unless I'm missing something here

You will get some people that will love red gauges and some don't here but don't let the no's discourage you. If you like it is all that matters!!

Gauge faces are pretty easy to change. Many colors are available.

I let that one go. Still on the hunt for the one I want

If I helps,

I wrote a program which scours the website of every deal I could (like 5000) & plotted their offerings.

i was primarily interested in the 991.2 vert with chrono, entry/drive, and <50k mi.

Currently the <5% bottom of the market is about $90k. I then used it to score a local car with everything option I wanted for $87.

If you want, I can do a quick run for you… but years & trim only as options are tough.

For reference, actualy In Canada : a 2013 991.1 Carrera S with PDK, Sport Chrono plus and PSE Convertible with 62 miles is 85 000 $ US so 110 000 $ CAD, even more for some good looking and maintained cars (115 000 $ CAD). And the prices increased since 6 month from 75 to 85 000 $ US before tax.. I follow the prices each day on Hebdonet for Canada. So if the prices are dropping in USA, not sure for Canada...

Canada prices will follow and I already see some price reductions on some 991's via Autotrader. A lot that you see over priced P are cars that still sitting for over 3-4 months and still trying to bank it. The market has changed and with interest rates increasing some more this year will mean price dropping.

How long has it been for sale? A lot of factors here; many buyers looking for specific configs - PDK/Cab (more common) vs. 7MT/Coupe (less common).

With higher pricing on everything (gas, groceries, etc) I don't foresee prices going down. I do think people will start curbing their 'excess' spending as prices start stinging their wallets. Sales will slow, prices will stagnant, but not necessarily drop. Sellers will likely just hang on to things longer rather than taking a hit.

Surprising how quickly people just get used to the price of things. I don't have buyers remorse for what I paid for my 911 last year when I hear what people are paying for Jeeps and pickup trucks.

Do you guys think it’s better to go with a 2017 to 2018 Carrera S with a manual for a 2014 turbo? Obviously, the Turbo is a PDK. I can currently pick up a 2014 turbo with 30 K miles on it for $127k certified preowned. The S would be about $122k.
