Default Replacing BOSE stereo - what I’ve learned

Thought I’d post this for others… it’s a really good way to learn about PCM 3.x BOSE stereo primer. There are other threads here and other sites but the below helped me the most.

Since I’m pretty old, 63, doing a stereo upgrade has NOT been done by me since the days of 8 track and cassette…..much has changed!

So, I’ve been doing an upgrade to my BOSE stereo on a 991 4S. Adding Helix and Focal gear. Take a read of this thread http://www.911uk.com/viewtopic.php?p=1585170
it’s a really easy way to understand what needs to be done with 991.x cars for BOSE replacement with PCM 3.x. Read the entire thread!!!The Helix box is needed because of the MOST output.

On eBay this guy, autoware302, has a kit
https://www.ebay.com/itm/39358186471...ea70c:g:cDcAAO
that contains the male connector so you don’t have to cuts to the cars pigtail into the old BOSE amp (Right one in pic). Let’s you maintain all the OEM wiring w/o cuts.

btw…check my For Sale Items for some gear I bought after I decided a different path. Shameless plug!

Hopefully this helps others!

I also made a thread of what I used to tap into the 991.1 Bose System and bought that exact kit on ebay.

Here's my writeup. The only issue is the Trioma, the company that made an inexpensive MOST to RCA adapter is based out of Russia, so that is probably no longer an option, it's too bad because it was pretty inexpensive and works great.
