Default Ceramic coating....Again, opinions needed

So I went with Ceramic Pro on my 971 because I thought I was getting the best product/brand and felt I would have good support. I probably over paid for this "feeling" and now Im finding there is No dealers near me. The coat was done in late 2019 and it appears to need some refreshing but there is no one supporting it near either of my houses. How would you proceed? does it need to be removed and start over? how does this actually work?

I personally avoid the coating as it does have drawbacks. Have had so many cars where I’ve left it natural and just kept the paint maintained without any issues or aging problems. Maybe try that for a while. (shrug)

I personally used Adams Graphene Advanced. In their product lineup is a surface prep spray that prepares the paint for additional product. Prior to switching to Adams, I used Griot's Best in Show about once every two months. The Adams Graphene is advertised to last 9 years. I do mine about every 6 months.... that's just how I am. Also, the protection of the trim and plastics using the Graphene Advanced is better than anything I've ever seen.

A car with Ceramic Coating applied still needs to be maintained. Aside from washing the car, you can (should?) use a spray on booster or rejuvenator (doesn't even need to be from Ceramic Pro, though they have their own as well) every once in a while to help maintain the coating's properties. Some good tips here (not affiliated, just found from a google search).

Honestly, I just use carpro reload every few months and it's well into the "good enough" territory. Spritz it on after a wash, buff off, done. Easier than waxing. It's intended for use after a ceramic coating job to maintain the ceramic coating, but can be used without that.

Food for thought, at least.

Zing.
This is what I use (Reload) on our ceramic coated vehicles and it works fine.

Zero evidence that the ceramic coating is wearing. Water beads like day 1.

I had Ceramic Pro done about four years ago. Now, after every other wash I use Hydrosilex Recharge. Spray on, wipe off. Quick and easy. Ceramic surface appears as good as new.

I would second the nomination for Adams Polish's ceramic coating. I used the UV Ceramic coating on my Macan 18 months ago and it looks spectacular. The UV dye makes it easy to see when applying and it goes on very easily. I'm about to use the same material on my 991.

I can't say anything bout the Graphene Ceramic Coating, but let's say that as a Chemist there is not an attribute of graphene that would help a ceramic coating. Additionally, if it were present at any appreciable level it would bring a black tint. As a chemist trained in materials synthesis and science I don't buy into the marketing on this one.

You are going on 3-4 years so it may in fact need to be re done. As others have said you need to do a decon with some type of iron remover and then a clay bar. After that use a ceramic booster. I know the Adams graphine products are very good.
