Default Headlight adjustment on lowered car?

Do the headlights automatically adjust to a new level position when a car is lowered or do you need to manually adjust the lamps? I have a 991.2

Good question. I never thought about this. I know I lowered the position of my headlights with my lifted Jeep because I was blinding everyone.

Would the amount the car is lowered actually matter? The light beam angle is like a half a degree down from the horizontal for most all passenger cars.

Lets say its 100% perfect even drop. Meaning .5" front and rear. Then no, it wouldnt really matter. It will matter most when the rake changes. Perhaps the front is lowered 1" and the rear only .25". Thats when its more important.

Likely this isnt much of a change if you just lowered the car but none the less, good idea to check how it feels at night and do an adjustment if needed.

The DOT has rules/laws to help with aiming headlights correctly. This is a handy guide with easy to understand diagrams you can use to check if your headlights fall within spec or not: https://www.fhwa.dot.gov/publication...148/aiming.cfm and if they’re out of spec, then adjust them so they are correct. Pretty simple.
