Replace bypass valve with BOV? 991.2 T
Hi all, I have been looking to find a if there is a BOV option that replaces the factory BPV. I have a ‘’18 Carrera T that’s tuned with Kline exhaust (200 cel cats) and BMC filter, stage 2 tune. I love the mix of noises I get between the turbo spool and the flat 6 motor, but I want to get the blow off (to atmosphere) noise too. I’ve looked everywhere, but can’t seem to find a vent to atmosphere (BOV) part. Anyone know if it can be done?

Doubtful a vent-to-atmosphere valve can be used on theses cars without screwing up the fuel mixture. Sam with By Design can clarify. IMO it's rice to have a vented bypass valve on such a high-end classy vehicle.

so messing the a/f ratio you’re saying the car would momentarily run rich? I get that some might not like it. I enjoy the symphony that it all things engine noises. Personally had a NA 911, but I think the mix of turbo noises and the flat motor make for a great combo (if you can’t get a GT car).

You can do it-I have. I run dual hks ssqv’s on my carerra t vented to atmosphere and honestly they are not loud at all. Nothing like how they were on my other turbocharged cars. I initially had them recirculated using hoses and adaptors I put together on my own but there was NO sound. I had to vent to atmosphere and block off the port from the inlet tube. No I’ll effects, doesn’t go rich on shifts (I have an accessport to verify) and I just loud enough to hear a faint whoosh of air at times (not all the time).
