Question Instrument Cluster Glass Lens Replacement 991.1

Hi all! First post after recently acquiring a 2013 991.1 C4S from my local dealership CPO.

I noticed that there seemed to be some smudges on my instrument cluster glass / plastic lenses. I tried cleaning them off, but it looks like they're actually worn or degraded in some way. It's only visible in some lighting conditions, but I haven't had any success in finding replacement options. As you can imagine, I'm trying to avoid going to the dealership to replace the whole cluster. Any suggestions on parts/process is greatly appreciated.

Imperfections mainly visible on the left two gauges.

I had a similar problem in my SUV. I tried multiple products and it just wouldn't come off. Then i tried lemon oil and it visibly reduced the problem by about 90%. You could give it a try knowing it may not turn out perfect.

A heat gun did the trick on my son's helmet visor, or you could try a plastic polisher like Griot's.

I noticed today that mine were in need of cleaning. It had similar blobs that just wiped off. The smudges were on the front of the plastic.

Try toothpaste as a polish (old Hesalite watch crystal polishing trick for old Omegas). There are also plastic polishes that will make the lense clear and shiny new again. Like
Novus Novus
plastic polish and cleaner.

Polywatch crossed my mind as a potential solution. Seems like the general advice is a DIY repair vs. a replacement.

I just don't think you will find or porsche sells just the plastic lens for the gauges. You will either have to get a new one or take the parts off a used one.

Radtech sells "ScreenSavrz" that they say can polish a laptop screen, they mention removing "key-marks" and scuffs. I use them for protection against laptop keyboard keys ever touching the screen but have not had any damage to remove from any computer screens so I can't comment on their effectiveness in removing surface damage or polishing scuffed surfaces.

I’d definitely use something designed for plastic watch crystals like poly watch. It’s gentle and can leave plastic looking like brand new glass.
