R-cmpds typically suck for drag racing.

Have done that in my RX-7 (r-cmpds for autox) and drag raced. Biggest issue on that car was dealing with wheel hop. However, when they did hook up the traction was better than a street tire.

I was much happier with the Nitto DR. Have not used MT drag tires which would definitely be the best for launching HARD.

19” is the smallest you can go. I got Forgeline GS1R in 19’s with R888R’s on all 4 corners (I’m a base C4).

I’ve already managed a 2.5 0-60 with them on the street in the first few miles.

How low will you plan on run?

If you are going to run the Cup R, I would make sure that the tires are HOT / at operating temps to maximize grip.

@polobai is correct that a DR or ET street for the best launches.

Thanks! Love me some graphite blue 🙂

The Forgeline wheels and R888R tires are setup very much more for drag/track duty. There’s a huge wheel gap. The 20’s do look pretty though!
