Default Anti roll bar bushing size?

Hi all,

I just ordered the bushing for my rear anti roll bar. But I just found out that they are not the same size even though they have the same part number. 991-333-797-02

My car is 991.2 carrera 4S equipped with PDCC, Rear axle steering and S-PASM.

I’m so confused now. The indy shop said they couldn’t fit the new bushing into the sway bar (the one I ordered is on the right, seeming it is smaller in diameter than the original one.

Does any one know what the solution should be if I want to order the correct part?

thanks

The right one is the ordered one.

The one in your left hand has a part number on it. Look it up!

edit- missed you said they have the same part number. Crap. I'm out of ideas now.

Are you comparing a rubber part deformed by years of service to a new one?

yes. The one on the left is on my car since new (2016). The right is the new.

In that case I would like to suggest that is the correct part and the install is not going to be easy as you don't want to use a lasting lubricant.

Hm…but it couldn’t fit in the roll bar since the diameter of the roll bar is quite bigger than the bushing so that it couldn’t fit at all ( the indy shop said that and I confirmed it by looking when he was proving it to me). It is like the new bushing is for smaller anti roll bar.

Do you have any suggestion?

No direct experience but I would suggest a jig that starts conical and goes to cylindrical (Hollow) just slightly larger that the bar then transfer to bar, use plenty of soapy water.
