Default Exhaust options

I am looking to get more volume from my 991.2 exhaust. I have the PSE and I love it, just want a little more aggressive note. I’ve heard that the soul sport cats are a good option. I talked with my Indy Porsche specialist and they said it doesn’t make much of a difference on a car with the PSE. I am interested in everyone’s opinion on this. Is this true? What in your opinion is the best option for me. The guy told me that in his experience most people with the PSE just leave it stock.

While most people probably leave their car stock overall, I’m sure much larger percentage of those on Rennlist mod their exhaust.
Soul sport cats will definitely make a difference with pse. The pse muffler is great because once the button is switched on, it’s pretty much a straight shot through the muffler. The sport cats makes for deeper louder sound as it is much less restrictive than stock cats. Turbo spool and burbles are much louder as well but this is pro to some and con to others. Soul headers also provide another level of deeper sound as well.
I have been running soul cats/xpipe on my non pse 991.2 for a little while but I am actually retrofitting pse and have new soul cats and headers on hand with install date next week. I’ve heard a bunch of different soul setups during club group runs. Pm me if you want to chat.

It is not true. There are videos illustrating this.

It's a pain in the *** to install the cats on a 991.2 though, so maybe that's why he's trying to steer you away?

Thanks guys, you have confirmed what I have heard during my research. I watched some videos and the sports cats certainly sound good, but it is hard to gauge based on internet videos. I’m not trying to do the whole exhaust but was trying to figure out which single component would give me the best sound. The downside to the sports cats are they’re a bit pricey. I didn’t get a chance to ask the Indy shop how much they charge for install because he was so adamant that it would make a minimal difference. Any estimates on how much the install would cost.

Adding Sport Catalytic Converters is a night and day difference on cars with PSE! The PSE system on your car is extremely well designed and is practically a straight pipe with valves open while the rest of the system is engineered to reduce drone in spite of the high flow. With this in mind, upgrading your catalytic converters to higher flowing units in an optimized design that favors the primary flow path would be your best bet for a noticeable increase in sound without drone, improved response, and no check engine light. He may be thinking of the base exhaust system that offers less of an increase in sound as it doesn't have a straight flow path bypassing the muffler section.

Here's an explanation video of the factory PSE system:

We'd be happy to see if we have any dealers in your area to get a second opinion and additional installation estimate if you'd like! We invite anyone considering any modifications to call us, PM us, reach out to us in any way as we'd love to answer any questions that you have.
