Been a while since opinions were given (at least from my search), so here’s the deal......
Xpel Ultimate Plus 8mm vs Suntek Ultra 8mm (Not the new 11mm, which is $500 more just for the front end )
In years past, people have said that the Expel holds up better, but the Suntek is somewhat more glossy & clear. People also have said that the Suntek rips easier.
Looking to see if that still holds true, what anyone has found with real world use of Suntek, etc.
I had the Expel Ultimate Plus on my previous car for 2 years and while there were a couple of nicks in the film, the paint was intact. It did seem however that the product had a slight orange peel to it. Haven’t had experience with Suntek, hence the question.
This will be a full front end on a freshly painted black car.
I have been using Suntek on all of my vehicles for quite some time (7 or 8). Came from Expel due to the yellowing I had. All of my vehicles are white. currently on my C7, 911, CTS4 and Avey all have Suntek. It is very clear. Don't know if they still do but Expel did have a "clear" coat on it thus the orange peel. Both have held up well. I have been using PPF since way back when no one knew what it was and the only maker was 3M. It has come a LONG way.....I like Suntek, FWIW.

Expel on GT Silver looks great. Car was polished as it should have been and it my opinion it looks great. Whole car minus rear spoiler, rear bumper and glass roof is covered. Cant tell which panels are covered.
I've got Suntek and very happy with it after nearly 2 years. Maintains glossy appearance. My car is mostly garage kept but gets driven weekly at minimum. The most important factor is the quality of installation.
Both companies have products that change regularly. Both companies are constrained by physics.
I have used both on my cars. I have had no XPEL yellowing on a white car after 5 years in the Texas sun. I had SunTek that was clear and smooth as can be until it tore upon impact.
The installer matters more than the film. Find the best installer in your area. See examples of their work. Meet the person that will do the work. Ask them what you’ve asked us.
My current 991.1 C2S came 100% covered in PPF. no clue what kind it is but it's held up great and still looks good after many years. before this car, i used 3M on four previous cars (none P cars) and it held up great on all four. agree with others here. it's all about the install as long as you're using any one of the top rated/newest films. hard to imagine noticing any differences between the various reputable mfg's, but am sure some of you "more attentive" guys would =)
