Default Buying Strategy- Help!

I drove Porsches for 20 years, then switched to Mercedes SL's a few years ago. Now I want back behind the wheel of a 911 and prices are CRAZY. My last 911 was a 2014 S. I personally prefer the look of the 992 and see some tech advantages but it is difficult to justify paying over MSRP (if I can even find one).

Is it a bad idea to buy a used 991.2 now, enjoy it for a few years, and then buy a 992 when they is a plentiful preowned market ? Any other ideas?

Thanks

Just hang on and ride out the inflation.... I wouldn't buy any car right now.
Once manufactures get chips used car prices and new ones will drop with increase production.... back to incentives and no markups over MSRP

I will sell you my 2018 C4S for 130k. MSRP. Manual with 20k miles. Perfect condition.
Yeah it is a bad idea to buy a 911 right now seeing how crazy prices are unless you don't care about money.

@griss - Yes - the prices are high, but who knows when and if they come down to the levels they were at 2 years ago. Find a car you WANT and get it, Drive it, enjoy it, and don’t worry about the price you bought it at. Just do your homework and make a list of variants and must have options so that you have exactly (or almost exactly) what you want. GO FOR IT!
