Default Interior update project... trim, steering wheel, shift boot, belts

Over the winter I want to upgrade a few pieces of my interior... I have already done red key plug, red SC gauge face, 991.2 leather arm rest with crest, alcantara 991.1 steering wheel, alcantara shift ****, and Lloyds mats.

1. Interior trim - I have the standard aluminum. In a perfect world I would buy the OEM or DB Carbon interior kit, which costs between $2200-$2700. Budget for trim is much lower unfortunately.

A. Aftermarket CF interior trim kit. I see some on Ebay etc for $500-$1000. Anyone have personal experience/pics of these? I would spend the money if I knew I was getting a high quality product that looked OEM.

Something like this Ebay Trim Kit or this Ebay Trim Kit 2

B. Having someone professionally wrap interior trim $250 to $350

- Carbon fiber style
- Gloss black
- Matte black
- Brushed black

Anyone have any pics of this? If so how did they handle the cup holder icon sticking out on trim?

2. Steering wheel - Currently have 911.1 alcantara wheel. Want to go to the smallest black alcantara 991.2 wheel. Ideally with red 12 o'clock marker and red stiching. Don't need multifunction, just PDK paddles. Any suggestions on best value for these? On ebay they are like $2500. Via suncoast the basic wheel is $1500 + airbag.

3. Shift boot - Likely alcantara to match steering wheel and shift ****

4. Red seat belts - Anyone have experience with this place? https://www.safetyrestore.com/seat-b...placement.html

Nice! This is going to look great. Will be checking in for updates. You should also think about changing the armrest to Alcantara to match the shift boot and everything else.

These look pretty good for a wrap... the brushed black aluminum could look good too...

I used this vendor to convert my black seatbelts to red. Very satisfied with the quality, and speed of the turn around. Would highly recommend them.

Nice project for the winter. Shift boot is a 10 minute upgrade and looks sooooo much better than the factory plastic. Plus, you have the option get it with red (or chalk) stitching to match your other interior pieces

Thanks for the feedback guys. The realism of my budget for this is setting in so I will have to make some concessions, not as fun but I think it will still be nice. I just can't see spending $8200 on fluff.

How I would spec it if I had no budget

1. Carbon OEM interior + DB Carbon door strips - $2700
2. Red OEM belts - $1200
3. Alcantara + red stitched boot - $550
4. Alcantara wheel + red stitching/marker + leather airbag - $3600
----------------------
$8250

Where I am at

1. Professionally done vinyl wrapped trim in gloss black or brushed black aluminum - $250 (I am afraid the fake carbon will tempt me into buying the real carbon)
2. Safety Restore red belts - $300
3. Black leather OEM boot - $275 (If I am not getting red stitched wheel I felt like it would look weird with just stitched boot)
4. All black Alcantara wheel + leather airbag - $2880
----------------------
$3625

The shift boot is ordered, trim is pulled just need to make my mind up on color and drop it off, steering wheel I am trying to find part number for so I can see if I can get it for less than Suncoast who charges a premium + sales tax.

This is the steering wheel I am likely going to go with. Does anyone have a part number for Steering Wheel - GT Sport Alcantara - No Multifunction - No Sport Chrono? I have looked high and low. Suncoast swears it exists and is in stock at the Porsche Parts Warehouse, but wont give me the part number. I was able to find part number for this wheel in Manual transmission, or PDK with Sport Chrono, but not PDK No Sport chrono.

Oh man the prices are crazy, I bought my GT4 wheel for 900 or so. But I am a manual car so maybe that's why. Good Luck. I REALLY wanna do the seatbelt thing, but don't really want to take apart my interior, it's such a pain. q

Ok change of plans.... I ordered a leather GT Sports wheel, and leather boot w/ red stitching from Sunset. Also ordered the stuff to convert it to non-MF from Suncoast. When the wheel arrives I am going to convert it to non-MF and then send it out to Royal Steering wheels to be wrapped in alcantara, add red marker and red stitching.

Interior trim is getting dropped off to installers on Tuesday night, going to try gloss black first.

Just need to order the airbag from GetPorscheParts

This is what it should look like done, but with black wheel trim and the GT style inserts.

I have also been in the middle of a 911R diffuser install. It has to be cut in two areas to fit the Fabspeed headers as one of the primaries hangs too low on both sides.

Man that's going to be one pricey steering wheel. This one on eBay has the TDC mark and stitching in red.

Oh that's actually pretty tempting as I would have the leather part leftover too.

Believe it or not this route is by far the most economical way to get what I want... It's costing the same if I had just ordered the basic black alcantara non-mf from Suncoast after tax. And theoretically will have the MF conversion parts to sell if anyone wanted those.

I haven't but maybe I should.

I think Royal charges around $400 to do the re-trim work which seems fair to me.
