What are your plans?
several people have done resting and aftermarket intercoolers don’t give you a lot extra until you go for stage 2 tune or more but then you also need other upgrades. Search in this forum and you should see. aftermarket intercoolers will give you a few degrees cooler in drag racing but for track or high reving canyon driving, the whole system will heat soak pretty fast so very diminishing return.
So if you plan on mods, start with high performance cats, air filter, diverter valves, stage 1 tune.
When you start going with stage 2, downpipes, turbo inlet pipes, etc, then consider aftermarket intercoolers.

I have a Carrera T with sport cats, sport headers, BMc filter and IPD plenum. Next month I am installing the APR Stage 3 (GTS turbos and ECU upgrade)
I thought it would be good to add the AMS intercooler - but I do not go much on track. Maybe not very beneficial/needed?

Lucas, nice upgrades. Yes, with those upgrades time for new intercoolers.
since bumpers is off, get the APR diverter valves, will really help response. Then also get a Vektor AOS catch kit, will help you keep those new intercoolers clean and optimum performance. Both of these items are inexpensive while bumper is off.

There are no differences in performance between the two kits. The entire IC system is so flow-limited from a cooling air stand point, with only a finite amount of space as well. I have the AMS setup and couldnt be happier
and I would say the same for the TiAL. You most certainly can see the CF through the intercooler vent at the bumper if you know where to look though.
