Default Powerkit for Porsche 911 Carrera S

Can the OEM Powerkit for the 991.1 be bought from Porsche? If so would it be best done by the dealership? Anyone with cost estimates? I did a search and didn’t find anything.

I was under the impression that the powerkit had been discontinued, but places like Suncoast list it for sale for a cool $11k.

I think it require a lot of work to install, when I asked it was c$5k for labor alone if my memory serves me correct

I could believe this. It's a bunch of intake related stuff at the very least.

From the Porsche Bulletin:
A parts kit is available for increasing the performance of the standard engine.
Increased performance is achieved by implementing the following measures on the engine:
• New cylinder heads with flow-optimized intake ports, valves and valve springs.
• New intake camshafts.
• New resonance intake manifold with switching flaps (material: aluminum sand cast).
• Modified maps for the DME control unit.
The following additional modifications are also required and the following preconditions must be met on
the vehicle side:
• New engine cover with carbon inserts, painted Titanium Grey.
• Sports exhaust system incl. tailpipes (if not already fitted).
• Radiator –middle– (I-no. 153).

Retrofitting:

If the engine to be converted has a mileage of over 25,000 miles (40,000 km), the crankshaft main
bearings and connecting-rod bearings must also be replaced.
If there is obvious wear on the connecting-rod bushings (scores), the connecting rods must also be
replaced.

Best way to go is with the GTS. 991.1 has 430HP

OP: I think the best way to get some gains is installing long tube headers with a good exhaust, replace the plenum (IPD maybe?) and a custom tune. This should set you back under $10k, keep the internals intact.

I would give BGB in Florida or DeMan in NY a call. They know how to build our engines for all motor power, mostly learned form 981 GT4 with same motor.

Otherwise RR Racing can get you more power with a supercharger.

Last place I would go in dealership. Unfortunately 99% of them don’t know anything but how to do overpriced oil changes.

BBi I believe does a stroker kit for the 9A1 motor too, and they are super legit as well.

So if you do the math 11k from Suncoast and 5k for labor for a gain of 30 hp that comes out to $533 per hp. As suggested it would be better to get a GTS. My car plus 16k probably would not get you a GTS but in the long run it would be a better investment when all things are considered.

I have same car as you. I’ve done intake, headers, exhaust and tune… I have four options I consider…

1. DeMan 4.5L, $29k installed, 500whp on pump gas
2. RR Supercharger, $13k?, 450whp on pump
3. Dundon intake runners, $3800, supposedly good for another 25-30whp, let’s say 400whp
4. Sell car for Carrera T, $30k

Supercharge it and get reliable 500+ HP at the wheels. RR does it! I think the whole cost is like $15,000 too!
