Default If you've been thinking about doing this.... Do it!

I envisioned this since the day I bought my 911. I recently met another member who cut me a great deal on a roof transport system, and this week I caught 2 of the OEM bike holders on sale at Suncoast! My only regret is not doing this sooner. I no longer have to choose between riding bikes or cruising in the car.

Cool! I had racks on my 964 (roof) and Boxster (rear). Lots of funny looks from people, but no reduction in driving pleasure plus taking bikes where I wanted.

I wish I had a reason to get a rack for the 911, they look awesome. But at this point it'd be a frivolous expenditure on unused equipment.

Love the 991 Roof Transport System. I haven't officially used mine yet but I'm so glad it's there for when I need it.

Last time I had a roof rack on a car that I habitually kept in the garage, I drove it into the garage with a bike on it. It did not end well for the bike, the roof rack, or the roof of the car given that the door height was lower than the bike height on the car …

I now use a tow hitch mounted bike rack, and will never use a roof rack for bikes again.

The whole idea is not having to drive my truck on a beautiful day just because I want to ride my bike.

I wish there was some kind of a transport system for the cabriolet. Would love to drive the 911 to the ski mountains.

Oh, ha, no - not on the 911. It's on my A6 allroad. I'd rather not drive the 911 with a rack on it even if it's a nice day than risk my inattention causing me to damage the car, the bike and the garage. Once bitten, twice shy.

LOL - no, not for a 911. But I have a stealth hitch for the A6 allroad, and a Kuota 4 bike hitch. It takes all of 5 minutes to install the hitch and rack, so 99% of the time I drive around with it off the car. The only time it's on is when I'm going to a bike race.
