Default 991.2 MFD blank data section

'17 991.2, information screen to the right of the tach - when I'm on the screen showing boost, coolant temp, oil temp etc there's a little field in the bottom left of this screen with 3 dashes and a needle. My question is what data can fill this field (I'd like it to show my average mpg) and how do I program the car to populate the field? There's no reference that I can find in the manual. And my google fu has failed me. Thanks in advance for any help!

That's your cruise control. The --- is implying there has been no set speed. Otherwise it will show the last set speed in white, and the text turns orange when cruise control is active.

You can choose what is displayed in that menu using the MFD menu system -- it's under "vehicle menu" under "display" I believe.

Average or instant MPG readouts are not available on the 911. You can go to the trip menu and reset your "since" screen (number 3) to get an average MPG since that reset. That screen automatically resets when the car has been off a while -- I believe 1.5 or 2 hours.

Thank you. I did indeed find the mpg readout on the main screen. Understood now why there's no data there now.

If you press the button on the end of the short lever on the left, I believe the blank display will go away.
