Default lower rear wheel carrier bushing....

So porsche does not sell this part unless you buy the whole carrier and well that just seems silly. It has to be the the same bushing on a touareg or something like that anyone know where I can get a couple? My car has 97k on it and they are a little worse for wear....

elephant racing sells monoballs for them, and even sells a simple removal tool, but I would rather have rubber bushings.

part F in the rear suspension diagram here (you will have to scroll down just a little)

https://www.elephantracing.com/991-s...ion-navigator/

Thanks

Found it and installed them! I feel like they made a difference maybe its placebo but it seems a little quieter/smoother. I ordered them on ebay and they came from poland for about $120 for the pair. Tedgums TED 37842

I also used the elephant racing removal install tool, It worked awesome It was well worth the $100 I tried to use some sockets and all thread I had laying around but it wasn't working, Didn't have a socket big enough and the all thread was to small.

Awesome, I assume you could do this with all the suspension parts still attached to the car. Looks like it can done on jack stands?

Yes the only bolt I took off was the one going through the bushings. I used a ratchet strap to hold the control arm down to keep it out of the way. I did it on the lift and used an impact gun on the removal tool

Lower carrier bearing

If you look closely, I have the Elephant Racing lower rear wheel carrier bearing. The lower strut one as well.

They are the only remaining ER parts on the car. All of the bars rattled like a **** and have been replaced with E-Motion. Even after many track days, the E-Motion are still silent.

Yes the ER monoballs are the only replacements I could find in the US. thats why I searched out these oem style bushings. The old ones looked bad but not terrible.

I am very happy with these new ones they are much quieter and smoother. Now if I could just kill some road noise from the tires.....

My bushings are shot as well, at just 35k miles. I was considering ordering the monoballs from ER, but I'd rather not have to deal with customs. Thank you, for saving me some time and money

What a PITA just to find these bushings, as Porsche not only requires you to buy the entire carrier housing, but it's NOT AVAILABLE globally! I've heard stories of cars sitting off the road due to disassembly that's been waiting for these for 6 months now! I scoured high and low to find some TED parts, and finally got my order in with a German supplier with shipping costing an arm and a leg, but I at least have an ETA.

Just an update on this, Its all working good but I did not get around to realigning after this install and it chewed up the tires pretty quick. On the upside I did replace the pzeros with some continentals (with a realignment) And the ride and noise are much better. I know the Michelins are more popular but I daily drive this and don't want to shy away from rain and light snow.

The Pzeros had 20k on them and were probably 3 years old.

The reason why Elephant Racing does not have the original bushings is because the company in Europe that supplies ER and who makes them for Porsche, does not have them on their site yet. Probably due to agreements. The latest bushings they have are for a 997...right back to a 356.

What are the symptoms for bad bushings? Did you guys have loud popping noises over low speed bumps from the rear suspension? Any suspension warning messages on the dash?

I don’t remember a lot of noises but it was clearly worn out when looking at it. It was nowhere near the center and pretty close to the edge

Mine had a horrible alignment on the rear passenger wheel. Took it into the shop, and looked under, and it was clear this bushing was shot.

I installed the E Motion spherical upright bearing today. Removing the stock bushing was easy. Removed it with a ratchet. Installing the spherical took much more force even with an impact driver.
Fit was perfect. I will eventually get the spherical arms for the rear. I have the full E Motion setup in the front already. Really high quality parts.
