I was driving merrily along when the radio went out. I almost never touch any of the controls on the radio. I thought the station had an issue, but tuning to other stations did nothing.

When I came to a stop I turned the car off and back on, but nothing changed.

Then I got a phone call and when I ended the call the radio came on.

Hopefully it isn't a harbinger of things to come.

 

PCM3.1 and PCM4 both have weird quirks like this. Some have more trouble than others, but at worst it's a minor inconvenience.

Push and hold the volume **** (power button) for 10 or 15 seconds if it happens again. That will reboot the headunit.

Also, next time you're at the dealer, ask to see if there's an update for the PCM software. They may charge if you're out of warranty. I had the same thing happen to me, went in, update fixed it.

 

Just had a PCM update done to get Google maps working again. They didn’t update the map version though…. Lame!
