2016 Meets 1974
One of the best ways to see your Porsche is to see it in action from outside of it. But then who is driving it if not you?
In my case it was my friend whose 1974 911 I was driving. Fun get together; we had not had the cars together before this.
The '74 is Lilac in color with a black interior and was very tight for its age. It felt quite light and rather quicker than I expected. Fun to see how, after 42 model years, the basic curves have changed very little.

It was interesting to drive a car again that has a mechanical throttle. I recall my E53 BMW X5 being the first car I had with an electronic one, I sort of got used to the slightly vague feeling they all have. The 991 is better than most.

Didn’t and don’t own the early 911s, but do have a ‘19 911.
The size increase is jarring from all those early models I used to see in the ‘70s, side by side with the new ones.
Can’t say if it’s an improvement, but you can’t argue with the new ones’ performance.
