Default Considering a Targa, Reliability Issues to consider?

I love an open Porsche. I have a 993 Cab and a 356 Cab. I’m considering getting a 991 Targa. But I am concerned about all of the complex mechanical hardware. Are there known issues to consider? Anyone with feedback on the overall reliability? Thanks for any help provided

all the best, Greg

Mine’s a 2014 with 55K miles, never had any issues. Top is as smooth today as in the beginning.

I bought mine new in January 2016. Five and a half years and 25,000 miles later I haven't had any issues.

We've only had our 991.2 for a year now, but every minute behind the wheel has been a joy. No issues whatsoever.

Same here. 3+ years, 13K miles. No issues.

I don’t recall anyone on Rennlist ever reporting an issue with the top mechanism. It’s not an aluminum gas cap for cryin’ out loud!

Well, I didn’t expect “unanimous” but that is great. I’ll be looking for a Targa 991. Thanks guys.

I have had mine now for 3.5 years - added about 40K miles to it’s 800 miles it had on it after two years with the previous owner. No issues with the top! Not an issues I would worry about.
