Default Left rear window issue 991 cabriolet

Hi, my rear side window (driver’s side) closes too much towards the interior of the car. So it hits the roof seal and goes down, normal.

any solution ?
thanks in advance for your help

Is your cab new to you or did this just start happening? That's the normal track for the rear windows, they slide toward the inside then get in place when all the way up (if that makes sense). What you have is the beginning of a rear window regulator failure, which is not uncommon. I had a similar thing happen, and tried everything. Putting grease along the seals, spraying some silicone on the window tracks, everything mentioned on the forum. In the end, I got a Fidelity warranty and took it to the dealer. Something like $1400 charged to the warranty to replace the regulator. Hasn't happened since.

thank you for your answer. No it’s not new, this started maybe a year ago. At the beginning I did the reset procedure and it worked, but only a few times. Then it’s been getting worse and now it’s 100%.

I found this in the 991 factory service manual, but I don’t know if it would help…

but of course, impossible to find this special tool…

I can clearly see it :

That's the one, but I think you have a screenshot of the right (passenger side) regulator. Mine failed on the drivers side (same as yours judging by your first photo). I can upload a picture of my service record next time I'm in the car.

Up…has Anyone here done the replacement of the window regulator ?
I can’t find a DIY for 991, only for 996 but not really helpful.

Any resolution for this?

The service manual says the roof structure has to be removed.

The special tool is Screwdriver 9842/3, Porsche part number 00072198423. (From the Service Manual and the Master Tool Index) Googling that part number finds a number of sources.
