Default Headlights cracking/crumbling on leading edge

Just below 40K miles - 2015 Targa 4S. I saw posts about cracking of the headlights, but did not see any pictures. Is this what others are also experiencing, or is my issue unique?

No, the "common" issue is more akin to crazing and delamination. What you've pictured seems to be wholly different, and I'd describe it as impact damage, or someone very poorly separating the housing to maybe replace the lenses to address the aforementioned common problem.

Hmm… Thanks. I do know for a fact that no one has “worked” on the lenses as I bought it with 775 miles on the odometer and it absolutely perfect at the time.

That is an extreme case but is in line with others that I have seen with this dreaded phenomenon. Sorry!

Both actually... There's crazing / cracking all over the lens and other threads on this chewing effect on the contours.
It is a recall waiting to happen. Think COV, think reverse light switch, the second some lawyer puts together a class action we're getting a free set of headlights. That's why I've resisted trying to fix them so far, I want them factory "rotten".

Same issue, just worse than mine and most I have seen pics of. Warranty issue if still under CPO coverage. Otherwise you probably need to live with it as it is stupid expensive to replace those lights.

I have a bumper to bumper extended warranty and the stealership stated the headlights aren’t covered. LOL

Sorry OP!

Those are only covered under factory warranty. You can buy sets off eBay but they will need to be coded

I am past warranty and CPO as well so that would not apply in my case anyway....

how about these: https://kistudios.com/product/porsch...eadlight-trim/
they'll at least hide the problem

I also have a few cracks around the edge of my lights. CPO warranty does not cover the fine cracks in the headlights, I tried..... The KiStudios headlight trim is what I chose to cover mine. I chose the black color trim and matches my SBM Carrera S with Gloss black wheels great.

if you are brave you could try methyl methacrylate to seal the cracks sort of like with windshield repair:
Amazon Amazon

it is very thin, so if you try, use it extremely sparingly.
