Default Seasucker bike mount on Targa?

I’m trying to figure out best way to transport a 56cm road bike in a 991 targa. Roof mount? Suction mount? Remove wheels and stuff into back seat?

The Sea Sucker is a great product. I’ve used it on several vehicles (63cm frame). It seems like it may be too long for a Targa. It definitely does not work on my Cabriolet.

stick it in the back seat. my wife and mom both drive 991 targas and while it's a beautifully engineered piece of glass mechanism, i personally wouldn't test puttling a bike on it. stick it in the back seat and be safe.

i have a hard top and roof racked my bike before. I did this a few times, but i realized I love to drive spirited on my way to where ever i'm driving to bike, and the bike on rack is very unnerving at high speeds no matter how secure the bike, so I decided to buy a soft bag and carry my bike in the back seat instead.

if i had a targa, with a bike on a seasucker, i would be too nervous to enjoy the drive at all.

I would be cautious about attaching the bike to the glass. There is a significant amount of force/torque in carrying a bike and I would not want to damage the targa mechanism. I vote for back seat.

I place the front mount pretty far back so it may be similar placement on the targa. The bike in the picture is 54cm

Yeah, I definitely don’t want to hurt the glass. Probably take both wheels off and store them in the front trunk? And then put the bike in a bag in the back seat.

is there a particular padded bag that you recommend?

Totally, but that’s what the bag is for, right?

just go to amazon.com and search bike travel bag. there is a ton. i use just the most generic nylon bag with no padding. i went no padding as they were dedicated for my car backseat and I wanted the smallest footprint. cheers

Will a 29" mountain bike wheel fit in the frunk? Will a pair?

I’m able to get a 700c road bike wheel in the front, but not two of them. Just barely won’t fit.

my final solution was to get the “Komodo” kit from Seasucker. Works a charm on the rear targa glass. Highly recommend!
