991.1 prices are going to tank bigtime. 992 GTS sound is way better.

Also - I listened to the whole video and, well (color me biased if you will) but I still think the 991.1 sounds better. There's more range and drama with a normally aspirated engine and PSE. Don't get me wrong, the 992 GTS is going to be an amazing car and will destroy the 991.1 by virtually every measure, but the only 992 that comes close to that NA roar is a GT3.

Don’t you mean the 991.2?
It’s not often folks compare the engine and exhaust noise of a Turbo vs NA.

No, 991.1. I couldn't believe it either. But if you watch the official video, by some magic the 992 GTS sounds vastly better. There has to be some brand-new engineering to it.

Granted, those are very cherry picked audio sounds and heavily edited. They seem to be cherry picking the sound the engine makes at low RPMs. That quick on/off throttle. The induction sounds *similar* but it's not even close still. Still sounds like a 991.2 3.0.

The last reason i would trade my 991 C2S (PSE) for a 992 GTS would be the sound.
But in combination with the basic 992 goodness, and the specs for the suspension, brakes and engine differences, I'm convinced!

It's sounds great in the video but I doubt it will sound anything like that in real life.

It seems like the sound is being taken from inside the cabin (regardless of what is showing on the screen). My 991.2 sounded great and NA-like inside the cabin too. It was outside the car - or inside the car but with the windows down - that one heard the biggest difference compared to the NA cars. The 992s I have seen drive by on the street don't seem any different in that regard. But I wouldn't completely rule out Porsche continuing to work on the sound and making incremental improvements.

How legit and accurate the recording actually is, we don’t know. But my 991.2 GTS sounds quite similar from the inside. Seems that this is a recording from the interior and overlayed over exterior drive by footage. The exterior sound of the 991.2 GTS with PSE is much louder than this recording.

Now 991.1 vs. 3.0T… that’s a matter of taste. Frankly, they both sound worse than how good the cars they’re in are.

Sound definitely better but 991.1 values tanking? The rumors of their demise are greatly exaggerated.
And no matter how good it sounds, it still has the 992 interior.
