Default Frunk opener and SmartTop

I just installed a SmartTop on my 2014. Great addition! However, now the wave-your-hand Frunk opener stopped working. Correlation isn't causation, but it stopped exactly when I installed the SmartTop. Could the systems interact? Could I have messed up something during the install?

I've had SmartTOP in 3 cars (981 Boxster GTS, 991.2 Targa and 991.2 Cab) and this has never happened to me. If you go to their site, there will be detailed programming instructions for the module.
I must say that in none of my cars has the "wave to open frunk" worked consistently. It works best for me when I''m washing the car and forget to take the keys out of my pocket. And I'm only partly joking.

same here - no Frunk-SmartTOP issues on 991.1
Try to disable it via settings and re-test

Good idea to turn it off in settings and then back on.

Reminds me of the about the engineers riding in a car that breaks down. The mechanical engineer says, "It must be a fuel flow problem, we should check the pump." The electrical engineer says, "It isn't getting spark, we need to check the distributor." The chemical engineer claims it is bad gas. The MicroSoft engineer says, "We should all get out of the car, walk around it once, get back in and see if it works." These days, the MicroSoft engineer is right too often.

This is strange. The opener hadn't worked for 4 days with me checking it several times per day. I just tried it again before trying a reset, and it worked. I tried it several more times and it worked. Hmmm....
