I should have taken the car in much earlier as I lived with the annoyance for a month plus.

Cheers and good luck.
Can you show me a pic where I need to spray? Thanks!

I think I've found the issue - the seat belt 'socket' (buckle?) rubs against the rear of the side seat bolster - if I hold the seat belt socket, the squeaks go away! It kind of needs a felt sock all the way around and down into where it is bolted to the body - any ideas?

My driver's seat (18-way) has been creaking during spirited left turns (centrifugal force pushing me right) for months. It was annoying, but it hadn't risen to the level of driving me nuts until recently. Then, I read this thread.

I suspected my seat's right torso bolster was contacting the center console tunnel on left turns, thus making a leather-on-leather creaking noise.

This AM I put some dry lubricant spray into the seat's mechanical hinges (where the seat back bends forward), took a little test spin, and the creaking is gone!

Thank you one and all for this genius fix.

Such great suggestions in this thread! Yet another reason why this forum is *so* valuable.

I have this issue as well. Some coming from the seat belt buckle rubbing on the bolsters and another from the seat back I think.

There seem to be a few different seat squeaks/creaks in our cars:
  • The seat rail itself – as suggested use dry silicone (or graphite) spray
  • The seatbelt buckle rubbing against the seat – I add felt tape all around the buckles (likely the dealer will do this for you)
  • On my 14-way, and probably on any non-bucket seat, there is a creak leaning towards the door. Caused by the leather and plastic seat edge rubbing. My solution was spraying Leatherique Pristine Clean generously on the seam whilst cleaning the seats. This eliminates the squeak. Thus far it has not returned in 6 months but likely will need to be re-applied now and then.
I also have a rattle on the passenger-side buckle when the belt is buckled. The end of the belt rattles around against the buckle (too much slop). My fix was wrapping a small piece of black electrical tape around the top of the buckle to take up the slop.

I didn't see it mentioned - so in my case it was the plastic housing of the seat controls (left side of driver seat near the door sill). When my fat **** is in the seat, the bolster or seat bottom "give" a bit and the seat material is rubbing more on the plastic housing where the seat controls are located. I inserted some material - wedged it there, been quiet ever since. I forget what it was; microfiber towel bits; foam, anyway try it...
