Leaving well enough alone...

There's no question about it, this is a heavily debated topic here on the boards as its still happening in countless threads as I type this. There seems to be 3 groups of owners here on the boards that we can all describe with different words whether it be purist, modders, track enthusiasts, etc... All of which there are varying degrees.
I've come across many threads where owners introduce themselves into the ecosystem coming from other vehicles that they've lived and breathed for many years and that influence has carried over in their desire to mod their Porsche vehicles. Some show restraint, others showcase a willingness to tinker or to be different for sake of being different. Many are laser focused to hit an apex through different bushing compounds, stiffer control arms, you name it. Others are asking, "Why do you think you're a better engineer than those are Porsche?"
I've spoken to countless folks I've crossed paths with, and all of us share varying views as well. "Why would you change the suspension on that?" "Why didn't you just buy a GT(fill in the blank)?" "That rides great, that is amazing. How much did you end up spending? So why didnt you just buy a ....?"
See the theme here? Because of the varying offers of Porsche, it all ends on "Why didn't you just buy a...." As strong-minded as one can be, I feel the constant nagging question in the back of my mind even when its not being asked. I know why I didnt buy that... Because if I did, I might have to find the next level of mods to tinker, push & build. Its a revolving door... OR... Would we mod less by reason of "Its really great as is!"
I guess this is more of me just putting down my thoughts and seeing who else feels the same, differently etc. At the end of the day, when do mods ever end for someone like us? When can we begin to leave well enough alone, because... They really truly are beautiful and built with precision from the start. You really want to do nothing but improve the handling & control or at least preserving it while having some sort of individuality.
Would we all do things differently if we started over? Probably, however, life is short, if it brings you joy without shorting you out of anything else, why the hell not? (more self-justification here). Anyway, this is a public internet forum. If we posted not to be judged by varying opinions, we're in the wrong place.
Thanks for reading. Here's some photos of my 991 S... Some more detailed progress on the build soon.

I say do what makes you happy and what brings you joy and not let what others say affect your vision. Everyone is different ( style,taste.....etc ). Everyone with always have an opinion ( good and bad ) and that’s fine they are entitled to have an opinion. But at the end of the day..... we are all here on the forums to help each other and enjoy the beauty of these fine cars. 😊
Car looks clean and sleek and always with all your builds 👍

The person asking, “why didn’t you just buy......?”, is coming from their own perspective. Not yours. There are a million reasons we own the cars we do. They can be upfront cost, to being a perfect platform for the intended driving. GT3’s have just as many drawbacks as base cars, and everything in between. So, yes, you can pick your ideal car, at a lower model level.
Then the mods are meant to tweak the car to our own ideal. Rather then get the car to the next model’s “level”, mods should be viewed as tailoring the car to a person’s specific preferences. That may even mean detracting from the cars performance, rather than getting it to the next higher model’s performance. So, while each person’s ideal is different, at some point the modding is probably “done”.
My car, my choices.
Also, your car looks fantastic!

OP, Sorry, I don’t get the point of your post.
Are you looking for validation or an argument? At the end of the day, no one really gives a shot what you do to YOUR car. Sure, we all have opinions about each others’ mods, and if we’re concerned that someone might not approve, then this probably isn't the best place to brag about what we’ve done.
It’s your car - do what you want. But if you can’t stand the heat, stay out of the kitchen.

Nice photography. Very low. Must require a lot of careful/delicate egresses.
