Default Anyone replace a clock spring?

I replaced the clock spring in my 991 for a new identical part (damaged the old one when pulling the wheel). With the new component in place, neither my MFD stalk nor my cruise stalk seem to function, and I get the standard steering angle sensor error that doesn't disappear when I turn the wheel lock to lock. Shifter paddles don't work either, but there is no airbag light and the horn does work. Is this a calibration issue or something else? Cables are the two cables on the bottom of the clock spring with white connectors, one yellow diagonal connector, and one multi pin connector in the rear of the unit. Question is would the other functions be disabled if it's just the sensor that needs calibration? Any thoughts?

You may need a PIWIS to reprogram the new clock spring. I would double check the wires and connectors to make sure they're all plugged in and seated.

Yeah, you do indeed need a PIWIS, based on the service manual. I found a neighbor with one so I will give it a shot. Thanks!

What was the outcome here? I was doing a steering wheel swap yesterday and installed a new clock spring. Got everything back together and had tons of codes, paddles didn’t work, MF buttons didn’t work, etc. I’m going to put my old clock spring back in today as the closest PIWIS is 2 hours away… anything you learned that may help? Thx.

I had a clock spring replaced under warranty, and they forgot to code it so I had to return, the clock spring does 100% indeed need to be coded into the car.
