Leaky oil level sensor O-ring?
2013 C4S... Went to change my oil the other day and noticed a thin film of what appeared to be oil covering the bottom of the pan. I might not have noticed it except for the dirt that had adhered to it. I inspected the the oil pan gasket the best that I could and didn't see any leaks from there or higher up. My best guess is either the drain plug or the level sensor O-ring, but I haven't run into this before. There are no drips on the garage floor. Appreciate any input!

Always use a new crush washer on the drain plug? Proper torque value??

Morning LexVan! DEFINITELY torqued to spec. You've got me pausing a bit on the crush washer. though. I used the Liquimolly oil change kit for my car from Pelican Parts. I can remember looking at he drain plug washer and wondering if it was a "crush washer" since it appeared to be a solid piece rather than more of a layered piece. Does a crush washer look different from a non-crush washer? Or is it just a softer metal? One of the reasons I was leaning towards the oil level sensor o-ring was because of the way the oil/dirt film is distributed on the underside of the pan. It's pretty centered rather than off-center like the drain plug.

Clean everything up with some Simple Green, and see what returns in the coming weeks/months.
