Drove my ‘14 C2 Cab from Dallas to Key West, Fl to Palm Beach and then Hilton Head, SC and back to Texas. No problems and great mileage. Comfortable ride with numerous hours in heavy rain. One passenger with luggage.
Sounds like you got through the trip in the nick of time (before the gas shortage here in the southeast).
I bet it was great! I wish my wife would do a road trip like that in my T, but she hates the carbon buckets (and also sort of dislikes the way I drive) haha.
Long East Coast to West Coast road coming up real quick in June as we are shipping the car back to PA and then heading back West after visiting family. The 'Dragon' is on our list of 'to do's' on the drive back along with a few others that were recommended such as "Needles Highway Overlook' in Rapid City SD area.
Hope to get some good footage as I will be running two cameras for these fantastic drives.

Your wife sounds a lot like mine. Try the TPC Racing recline brackets and P1Designs memory foam inserts. Night and day comfort improvement for the LWB.
Western WA to south of Phoenix not too long ago. Pretty good numbers considering my right foot was trying to mash the pedal thru the floor for most of the trip. Mph numbers are a bit low as some of that time was commuting to and from the fields in Casa Grande.
