In this case, I'm really not looking forward to replacing this on Sunday on my .2

bonus points if you know what it is

extra bonus points if you've replaced it before.

all the bonus points ever forever if you come replace it for me for free while I sleep in.

ish. hopefully I don't run into many extreme German engineering choices in this job

dealt with that crap yesterday enough -- I pulled the seat memory module in my e39 M5 because it died... to remove the trim surrounding it you need to pull the seat out and recline it fully. to pull the seat out you need to adjust the seat a few times. to adjust the seat you need a functional seat memory module. doing it in-car usually breaks the trim because you can't access two of the five fasteners.

First guess was AOS, but does actually look more like a reservoir of one kind or another. I'm with paddlefoot at this point. You've got me googling this morning and I have real work I should be doing!!

Bingo.

Removing the green cap from it has been throwing people off.

Didn't know the reservoir replacement was on the maintenance list. More bonus points for anyone knowing why Porsche suggests replacement.

Can confirm, there is a built-in filter. I can snag a pic in a little bit here.

They knew it needed a filter, so built it in the reservoir cause it makes the most sense!
