Definitely nice cars and performance, but I agree, no comparison in terms of exclusivity, BMW has lost it. I mean, how many kids do you see driving 911's, BMWs M-3s etc everyday.
When I drive my 911, it makes me feel special

I am a huge BMW fan and owned many, but finally bought my dream car which was a porsche 911. Got a 991.1 CS2. Previous car was a BMW 335i which I still own and love the car for sure. I still goto BMW meets. The 335i quick, got a tune and bolt ons and with the turbo, that moves with little effort. However the 911 being NA is more linear in power. Needs to be reving high which I am still getting used to but it sounds amazing and a rewarding feel.
I wish I could have waited and gotten the boosted 991.2 C2 or even a base 992 but my budget wasnt enough. All in all, I am happy with an NA, maybe it will hold some value.
I do feel more special driving the 911 but I wont go as far as saying BMW lost their touch. They are different beasts for 2 very different type of people. Although many BMW owners eventually move on to porsches haha

You lost me when you gave the M3 the nod for sound. Having had one, even with an MPE, I’d still say the 911 sounds better. Although, I just realized you were referring to the E92 and not the F80, so perhaps you’re right. I have since changed my PSE for an Akrapovic and that is on a whole different level right there though.
