Default Insurancw question

Last evening while driving my 2014 911-50 ran over a rod of some sort. Went through the tire AND wheel. I am guessing a $3,000 + bill. If I report it to insurance, will it show up on Carfax?? When I sell I don't mid disclosing the wheel issue but if it ends up on Carfax everyone runs.

if you take it to a dealer for “repair” then yes. The dealers and large body shops will report it on their own. The police report will report it. The insurance claim may not show up if no one else reports it.

I would confirm one way or another with your insurance company before you formally submit it as a claim, and get it in writing.

It’s likely going to show up whether you take it to dealer or tire repair shop. Even a simple request for an estimate w/o repairs ever taking place can trigger a Carfax entry.
