Smile Power window switch lever came apart

Good day fellow 991er's,

So I went to close my drivers side window on my 2012 991.1 911S, which involves pulling up on the switch to raise the window, only to have the lever detach from the switch.

My question is can you use super glue or some other adhesive to re-attach the lever to the switch? FYI, I can place lever back and activate the switch to raise or lower the window.

Any thoughts for permanent fix without getting Porsche dealer, albeit at very high labor rate, to get involved?

Many thanks,

Al

Window switch is easily replaced when you remove the door panel...very easy diy. New window switch available from Suncoast or used on eBay. Search Porsche 991 door panel removal for tutorial and from there the window switch is easy with two spring clips that need to be pressed to pop it out.

The switch button tabs will break in time. Button tabs are available for Cayenne, but not the 991.1, not certain why! I went ahead and removed the door panel and replaced the entire module. One post recommended disconnecting battery and waiting 30 minutes so as to NOT risk activating air bag? Please review door panel removal technique before removing door panel. I was very careful and the entire procedure took less than an hour. The OEM switch module costs around $175.00 including shipping plus state taxes. Wish I had a quality 3D printer to make a copy of the button! Dealer replacement is well over $500.00. DIY! One technique shows module removal/replacement using upholstery trim tools, but I figured I would break something else getting the module out!

I have the same issue on mine 2012.5. Purchased the China KO and will attempt to change without removing the door card. There are a couple of videos on this....FWIW.

I did this without removing the door card, although it’s not very hard to do. Changing the switch is not a difficult job, just use caution with the cables, they do not reach very far.
