991 Fault Headlight Control Light comes on
Having a little bit of an issue. I have a 2013 Porsche 991. I had to replace my passenger side headlight whcih fell out mid drive (I believe when they wrapped my vehicle they didn’t properly secure it).
Looking at the driver side that was still in the car, my light housing, control arm, bulb were: 991.631.135.05, 991.618.321.04, 991.618.323.03. Doing some research and calling Porsche and i believe my replacement light for the passenger side updated for todays part numbers are: 991.631.236.06, 991.618.321.18, 991.618.323.03. I put this into the my car and tada, the lights work, they do their little dance at startup, no issues at all. But. I get the “fault headlight control” error message every time i start the car. Everything seems to work fine. What is interesting is if i swap the left and right controllers I then get that message and also a “headlight beam adjust defective” message, so strange. When i swap the controllers back it is just that one fault message.
Any idea what it can be? Do i have the wrong parts for the replacement light? Do i need it programmed? Is it something else?
