Default 991.1 Front facing 5 pt harness - Graco SlimFit3 LX

Spent way too long looking for a proper fitting front facing 5 pt harness kid seat. Read the other forum posts and I don't think this particular Graco Slimfit model has been mentioned. The Graco SlimFit3 LX is slightly narrower than the std Graco SlimFit which allows the headrest to extend all the way to the back glass without rubbing on the pillar. Hope this helps someone.

are those photos with the headrest extended all the way up?

how's the space between that seat and the back of the passenger seat? (or what little space there is to begin with lol)

Not in the pic, but the headrest will extend all the way to the back glass, maybe a few more inches from the pic.

There's some space between the seat and the back of the passenger seat, but it's going to be tight for both kid in the back and passenger in the front.

@Tedrock23 I just bought the Graco SlimFit3 (not the XL) and another issue besides rubbing against the pillar is that it "slides" to the front a little bit. I tried using the seat belt and the anchors and if I push it, the bottom part always moves forward more than the recommended 1". Do you have that issue? I feel that I am missing something but I can't push the belt further. Tks!

rr911, I installed using the latch system and top anchor, but the graco was installed on a protective seat cover so that may have helped with the slipping. The back seat lower cushion is also removed so that may have helped. I haven’t used the seat belt to anchor the seat, but that was always a struggle in our other cars to keep a car seat from moving. I imagine it’s even harder with the tight confines in the 911 to pull the belt tight.

on the plus side, once u have the seat fitted, kiddo loves the ride, and falls asleep too back there.

I also installed the latch and top anchor. I also have a protective seat cover but given that the seat isn't flat, if I pull it forward from the lower back, it moves 3" or so. I order the XL version to see if it's different.

Can you share a picture of the ca seat fitted in your car? specially the bottom part?

My kid loves it, I use to have the cosco scenera car seat and it worked pretty well and it was a good fit but it's too small for him now so I am trying to find a replacement that works. The cosco didn't move at all.

I’ll post a pic when it’s back in the car. Our family car is in the shop and we forgot to pull the child seat out of there so the 911 car seat is in the loaner.

fyi, cooling hoses/lines on an mb gl550 are junk.
