The lines of the car with the convertible are just not pleasing to me. I love the Porsche 911. Always have even since childhood. But if they only sold the cab I would have to own something else. They just don’t do anything for me.
"The lines of the car with the convertible are just not pleasing to me." I guess you spend your time looking at your car more than driving it. For everyday street driving the sun, sounds, the wind and the openness that the cab gives me far outweighs any slight advantage the coupe has in looks.
Lets do the math in exterior looks:
Coup > Cab Top Up
Cab > Coupe Top down
So statistically a tie!
As for skin cancer, as a balding man (lucky my height hides my bald spot), I always wear a baseball cap, and usually drive with long sleeve shirts.
I tried a coupe once. Looked great on the outside but was dark on the inside. Sunroof doesn't help (look up and you do not se the sky, you see the window frame and roof, the sky is really for the back passengers (like they exist).
Targa is heaviest, and slowest, plus $$$ and if its out of warranty and fails......
